Obasanjo Charges Youths To Participate In Socio-Economic And Political Activities To Change Narrative

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has charged Nigerian youths to participate in all socio-economic and political activities in other to change the narrative in the continent.

According to him, Nigerian youths should not give chance or allow those messing up their future to succeed.

He noted that their participation in such activities, guarantees a better future them, while challenging youths to take up the responsility in changing the Africa Narrative.

Naija News reports that the former president said this at a mentorship retreat organised by the Youth Development Center of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL).

He said youths are faced with visible barriers that affects the actualization of the latent potential in them in most parts of Africa.

Olusegun in a statement signed by his
spokesperson Kehinde Akinyemi urged young citizens never to allow another person to determine or shape their space in society.

He advanced that youth should channel their energies and spirits to eradicate physical and mental barriers, noting that if youths can be desperate enough to trek through the desert to get menial jobs in Europe, then they can change the narrative too.

Obasanjo said “I am challenging you as young Africans to engage in activities that would change the African narrative.

“Participate in socio-economic and political activities that guarantee a better future for you and don’t allow those who are messing up your future to succeed.”
