A brief stoppage took place for Iftar during the second half of the Premier League game between Aston Villa and Wolves to allow Moussa Diaby and Rayan Ait-Nouri to break their fast.

Iftar is the fast-breaking evening meal of Muslims in Ramadan at the time of adhan of the Maghrib prayer.

It is the second meal of the day for Muslims during Ramadan, with the daily fast beginning immediately after the pre-dawn meal of suhur.

The fast continues during the daylight hours and ends with the evening meal of Iftar at sunset.

Diaby and Ait-Nouri were both seen taking on fluids as the pause in play occurred.

Villa star Diaby had put his side in front in the 36th minute, with Ait-Nouri featuring for Wolves.

Ait-Nouri was replaced by Hugo Bueno in the 64th minute at Villa Park.

France international Diaby is in his first season at Villa, having joined from Bayer Leverkusen last summer.

Ait-Nouri, who represents Algeria at international level, initially joined Wolves on loan from Angers in 2020 before signing permanently in 2021.
