In a spectacular display of football and entertainment, the 8th Asisat Oshoala Celebrity All-stars Match captivated a capacity crowd of over 4,000 fans at the Campos Mini Stadium, Lagos Island, on Tuesday, December 26th.
The event celebrated the achievements of Asisat Oshoala, the record six-time CAF Women’s Player of the Year.

The festivities commenced with an entertaining exhibition match between the Asisat Oshoala Academy and Flourish FC.
Flourish FC secured a 3-1 victory, with the crowd treated to three exquisite goals.
The Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the match, Effiong Sandra of Flourish FC, received a 40-inch TV, while outstanding goalkeeper Kuti Taiwo received a Microwave, courtesy of event partner MTN.
The highly anticipated celebrity match featured Team Naija All-Stars, captained by former Super Eagles forward Obafemi Martins, against Team Naija Celebrity, led by comedian and actor Ayo Makun (AY).
The match included “Fun Games” and ended with Team Naija All-Stars emerging victorious with a 4-2 scoreline.
Chief host Asisat Oshoala scored a late penalty, contributing to Team Naija AllStars’ comeback from a goal down to secure the win.
Expressing gratitude, Asisat Oshoala thanked her colleagues, celebrities, and sponsors for their continuous support over the eight-year run of the event.
She acknowledged the efforts of her manager, Mr. Lanre Vigo, and the organizing team. Oshoala recognized the headline sponsor, Providus Bank, and other partners, including MTN, Pepsi, Flutterwaves, Idomie, gamr, and PROkicks.
In her closing remarks, Oshoala said, “Together, I believe we can consolidate on the successes recorded today as we take it a notch further with subsequent editions.”
Event coordinator Mr. Lanre Vigo, also the chairman of the organizing committee, shared insights into the planning process.
He highlighted the strategic approach to ensure a large crowd and the participation of prominent names in the entertainment industry.
Vigo thanked sponsors, especially Providus Bank, and commended his team’s dedication, expressing optimism for the 9th edition in 2024.
Football fans and spectators in attendance praised the event, considering it the biggest and most consistent celebrity game in the country.
