Abia community reports bomb scare to state govt

The people of Ala Imenyi autonomous community of Lomara, Umunnochi Local Government Area of Abia State, have alerted the Abia State Government about the discovery of an object in their community, suspected to be a bomb.

They made the report over the weekend during their visit to Hon. Mathias Umeh, the member representing the Umunnochi constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly.

Speaking through their traditional ruler, HRH, Eze Luke Uchechukwu; their President General, John Ejiofor and other leaders, they said the visit was to brief the state government about the bomb scare.

The Ala Imenyi people, who said their lands witnessed various forms of insecurity in the past few years, expressed gratitude to the new administration of Governor Alex Otti for bringing the situation under control with his security strategies, calling for the sustenance of war against bandits.

They appealed to the state government to site more developmental projects in their community.

Responding, Umeh promised to communicate the reports of the Ala Imenyi people to the Abia State Government.

Umeh, who thanked Otti for responding to the terrible insecurity situation that held sway in Umunnochi in the past, assured his people that kidnappings, armed robbery and other forms of crimes would never be allowed in any part of Umunnochi.
