AFCON 2023: Ojo dedicates inclusion in Super Eagles’ squad to NPFL players

Enyimba goalkeeper, Olorunleke Ojo says his inclusion in Super Eagles’ squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations is dedicated to players in the Nigeria Premier Football League.

Ojo is the only local player named in a 25-man squad released by head coach, Jose Peseiro on Friday.

The former Akwa United star was named among the three goalkeepers who will be heading to Cote d’Ivoire 2023.

The other two goalkeepers are Stanley Nwabili and Francis Uzoho.

“This period is so emotional for me. I want to use this medium to appreciate the media, football pundits, fans, and most importantly the technical crew of the Super Eagles, for believing in me and for giving me a rare opportunity to be a part of the upcoming AFCON team,” Ojo told CKD Media.

” I will give it all my best if given the opportunity to be in goal in any of the matches. I am more or less a flag bearer for the NPFL at the AFCON.

” I dedicate this inclusion to GOD and all NPFL players, ” Ojo said.

The Super Eagles will begin preparation for the competition in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on January 2, 2024.
