Akinade hails Doma United’s win against Enyimba

Doma United head coach Akinade Onigbinde said his team was lucky with the victory against Enyimba on Wednesday.

The Savannah Tigers defeated the People’s Elephant 1-0 in a rescheduled Nigeria Premier Football League matchday four encounter at the Pantami Township Stadium.

Hillary Ekawu got the goal for Doma United in the first half of the encounter.

The match was Doma United’s first meeting with the Abia giants since gaining promotion to the top flight.

Onigbinde commended his team for their bravery despite the pressure from their visitors.

“We feel great for the victory because we played against a very attacking side in Enyimba,” he told the club’s media.

“Enyimba played like a wounded lion as they were desperate to make up for their defeat against Kano Pillars last week.

“All the departments gave their all in the encounter despite playing the reigning NPFL champions for the first time.”

Doma United moved up to fourth position on the table with 14 points.
