Super Falcons defender Michelle Alozie expresses delight at being named in the prestigious 2023 CAF Women’s Team of the Year.

Alozie, along with her fellow Super Falcons teammates Asisat Oshoala and Osinachi Ohale, secured her place in this distinguished lineup.

 

 

Alozie contributed significantly to Nigeria’s respectable outing at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, hosted jointly by Australia and New Zealand.

The right-back’s outstanding performance did not go unnoticed, earning her a well-deserved spot on the list.

Beyond her international success, the 26-year-old athlete had a stellar season with her National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) side, Houston Dash.

This dual achievement on both the global and domestic fronts underscores Alozie’s prowess in the world of women’s football.

Taking to social media to share her excitement, Alozie posted on her official handle:

“Best XI 2023. truly an honor. A year of firsts; the Super Falcons are special!!!”

Also, Super Falcons was crowned as women’s national team of the year.​

The record African Champions reached the FIFA World Cup round of 16 without losing a game despite facing Australia, Canada and Republic of Ireland.

The team sadly lost to eventual runners up England in the penalty shoot out.
