Aregbesola’s Man, Salinsile Rejects Gov Adeleke’s Appointment

'Aregbesola Did Not Directly Work For PDP, We Sold Liability To APC, Bought Asset'

A prominent ally of former Interior Minister, Rauf Aregbesola, Razak Salinsile has turned down the position of Board Chairman of the Osun State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM).

The Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke made the appointment which Salinsile has now rejected.

This development came a week after Governor Adeleke announced the appointment of various board chairmen and vice chairmen.

As the governor’s spokesman, Olawale Rasheed, explained in a statement, “Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has approved the appointment of chairmen and vice chairmen of non-statutory boards in the state. The appointments take immediate effect.”

However, Salinsile was notably absent from the swearing-in ceremony for the board chairmen and deputies held at the Governor’s office in Abere on Wednesday.

When questioned about his absence, Salinsile in a chat with TheWhistler clarified that he had turned down the appointment for personal reasons, stating, “I declined it for personal reasons.”

In light of Salinsile’s refusal, it is understood that his position has been filled by one Tope Adeyemi, who is known to be an associate of Salinsile.

Salinsile served as the secretary for the Osun State chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and was known for supporting Aregbesola against the re-election of former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, the APC’s candidate in the 2022 election.
