The Denver Broncos celebrated a big home win over the Kansas City Chiefs by blasting Taylor Swift over the stadium speakers.
Denver’s 24-9 victory on Sunday over Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and the Swift-less Chiefs was stunning.
The Broncos then completely trolled Kansas City by turning Empower Field at Mile High into a pop-up concert on Swift’s Eras Tour, cranking “Shake It Off” for Denver fans to happily dance to.
The pop superstar didn’t attend the game.
It was an especially bad day for Mahomes, who tried to shake off an illness but threw two interceptions and posted a weak 59.2 rating in the loss.
“We didn’t execute or score any points,” Mahomes said.
That was a bit of an exaggeration.
Kansas City did record nine points as it fell to 6-2 and handed Philadelphia (7-1) the best record in the NFL.
But the Chiefs did struggle all day and were consistently outplayed by Denver, which produced its best outing of the season.
“We believe in who we are,” Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson said.
The defeat marked Mahomes’ first loss to Denver after 12 consecutive wins. The two-time MVP quarterback was looking to become the first in history to boast a 13-0 record over an NFL opponent.
It was also his first road defeat in the AFC West.
The reigning NFL MVP had won his initial 16 divisional games away from Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.
“Worst I felt walking out of the stadium,” Mahomes said. “Obviously, it wasn’t our day.”
Kelce was also pedestrian, recording team highs in catches (six) and receiving yards (58) but failing to reach the end zone.
Kansas City didn’t score in the second half and was held to three field goals during the game.
“Props to them,” Mahomes said. “They played their tail off and they deserved to win today.”
Denver dominated the Chiefs.
Then the Broncos blasted Swift’s most famous track and celebrated in Kansas City’s face.
