Chelsea, Inter Milan, Monaco Battle For Folarin Balogun

Nigerian-born American footballer, Folarin Balogun, could force Premier League side, Chelsea, to go into a bidding war with Italian Serie A side, Inter Milan, and French Ligue 1 side Monaco.

The three European clubs are said to be very interested in the England former youth international who is now representing the United States senior football team.

Naija News gathered that Arsenal are open to selling him to any suitor who can pay at least £50 million for the 22-year-old forward this summer.

While sources close to the Stamford Bridge side have claimed that Chelsea are very keen on bringing the youngster to the club this summer, they are yet to table an official bid for the youngster.

In the same vein, Inter Milan are closely monitoring Folarin Balogun’s situation at the Emirates Stadium and are said to be contemplating their next move.

French Ligue 1 side, Monaco seem to be the most serious of the three contenders for Balogun’s signature so far this summer. The French side have reportedly tabled a bid for the youngster but the Gunners have turned it down according to the BBC. But that won’t deter them from trying again.

Recall that Folarin Balogun made a huge statement in the world of football when he was on loan at French Ligue 1 side Reims last season.

In the said season Balogun stunned most football enthusiasts by scoring 22 goals for the French side.

Despite that, coach Mikel Arteta seems unready to give him a chance at Arsenal even though his favorite striker, Gabriel Jesus is battling an injury.

In Jesus’ absence, coach Arteta prefers to use Eddie Nketiah ahead of Balogun, hence, the Nigerian descent will leave Arsenal this summer once the right offer comes in for him.
