Newcastle United legend, Alan Shearer has branded Manchester United ‘a complete mess’ after the Magpies defeated them 3-0 in Wednesday’s Carabao Cup tie.
Goals from Miguel Almiron, Lewis Hall and Joe Willock ensured Newcastle defeated Man United at Old Trafford.
The result means that the Red Devils are now out of the Carabao Cup while they are also as low as eighth position in the Premier League table after a poor start to the campaign.
Newcastle’s impressive victory marks revenge for Eddie Howe’s side, who lost to Erik ten Hag’s side in the Carabao Cup final last season.
In a tweet via his official X account after the game, Shearer said, “Total domination from the Toon. Magnificent from start to finish from every single player.
“One team playing for the badge, the other team a complete mess. TOONTOON.”
Man United will now hope to bounce back to victory when they face Fulham in the Premier League on Saturday.
