Cristiano Ronaldo has been given a one-match suspension for his gesture during Al-Nassr’s Saudi Pro League game earlier this month.

Following Al-Nassr’s 3-2 win over Al-Shabab last Sunday, Ronaldo was greeted with Lionel Messi chants from rival supporters.

Ronaldo responded by cupping his ear and repeatedly thrusting his hand towards his groin.

The Disciplinary and Ethics Committee of the Saudi Arabia Football Federation (SAFF) announced on Thursday that Ronaldo will now serve a one-game ban for his conduct.

The 39-year-old, who reportedly earns in the region of £3.6 million a week at Al-Nassr, has also been fined 20,000 Saudi Riyals (£4,200).

Al-Nassr are playing at home to Al-Hazm on Thursday.

Ronaldo’s side are currently second in the Saudi Pro League, six points behind leaders Al-Hilal.

Last April, Ronaldo escaped punishment after he grabbed his crotch as he left the pitch after a 2-0 defeat to Al-Hilal.

Ronaldo made the move to Al-Nassr in January 2023 after his contract with Manchester United was terminated.
