Desire Oparanozie happy to make Super Falcons return

Forward Desire Oparanozie couldn’t hide her joy following her return to the National team fold after almost two years of absence.

Oparanozie’s perpetual absence and recent battle with the top official of the past board of the Nigeria Football Federation casted major doubt over her international future.

The 2016 African Women’s Championsship hero missed the African Women’s Championship, and the team’s two other training camps under Randy Waldrum.

The former Guingamp forward, however, made her return to the squad for the just concluded international break, where the Falcons played against Haiti and New Zealand in Turkey.

She marked her return in style as she scored one of the team’s three goals against New Zealand on Monday.

“Good being back”. The former Super Falcons captain wrote on Twitter handle on Wednesday.

Oparanozie will be hoping to make coach Randy Waldrum’s final squad for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup to be hosted by New Zealand and Australia.

The Falcons are pitted in Group B with Canada, Australia and Republic of Ireland.
