Ebonyi Governor Sparks Reactions Over Reply On Salt Factory’s Revenue

The Ebonyi State governor, Francis Erishi Nwifuru, has caused a stir on social media over his lack of awareness of the salt factory’s revenue in his state.

Naija News reports that the governor, during a recent interview on Arise News, said that he had no idea how much the salt factory in his state is generating in revenue for the Federal government.

According to Nwifuru, only the federal Ministry of Mines and Steel Development can disclose how much the salt industry in Ebonyi is making, not the state government.

“It is not in the concurrent list, but in the state-exclusive list. So I can not get up and say this is how much the salt industry makes in revenue for the FG,” he stressed.

He maintained that what the state gets is only from community developments and nothing else.

The video has elicited a lot of reactions from Nigerians who expressed concerns considering the fact that ‘the theme of the nation’ and the lack of awareness from the leader governing its affairs.
