Ebonyi: Prioritise empowerment of indigenes – APC governor-elect, Nwifuru tasked

Ebonyi State governor-elect, Francis Nwifuru, has been tasked to focus majorly on the massive empowerment of the citizens of the state.

Nwifuru will be taking over power from the outgoing governor, David Umahi.

The governor-elect was also urged to ensure the maintenance of infrastructural facilities put in place by his predecessor, David Umahi.

Umahi’s Special Assistant on Documentation, Francis Nwaze made this known while speaking with newsmen in Abakaliki, Ebonyi state.

Nwaze said: “We are happy that the governor-elect, Francis Nwifuru, emerged winner through the instrumentality of Divine mandate. He is a young man with a wealth of experience. He is an exposed and widely travelled person. I can assure you as one, who is part of the Divine mandate, that Nwifuru is going to continue with the legacy already put in place by the present administration.

“A lot of infrastructural facilities have already been built by the present administration led by Governor David Umahi. What is required of the incoming administration towards these projects is maintenance” he added.

He claimed that the outgoing governor, David Umahi didn’t abandon any project done by his predecessor, Martin Elechi, and as such, it will be good if Nwifuru would continue with some of the meagre projects; especially the international stadium, which is near 80% completion among others.

Nwaze urged the governor-elect to carefully select professionals that would help him drive home the good agenda he has for the Ebonyi people.

In a related development, Nwaze called on the national leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, to zone the 10th Senate President seat to the South East for the sake of equity and fairness.
