Fulham defender, Calvin Bassey says he holds the much-criticised former Manchester United captain, Harry Maguire in high esteem.
Maguire has been constantly criticised by Manchester United fans for his indifferent form since his arrival at the Old Trafford.
The Englishman was stripped of his captaincy by manager Erik Ten Hag at the beginning of the current campaign.
Bassey, however, believes Maguire is a top player.
“At the time I was coming through the ranks and he was one of the players I looked up to and still do, he’s a quality player,” Bassey told the Mirror.
“Now that I’m playing on the opposite side, he plays on the opposite side, just giving me some advice like any top player would.
“He was incredible at Leicester and still is. To do what he did for Leicester was amazing.”
