EPL club ready to break transfer record for Nigeria attacker, Boniface

Premier League club, West Ham United, are ready to break their transfer record to sign Nigeria striker Victor Boniface.

According to The Sun, West Ham’s technical director Tim Steidten is pushing massively to bring the Bayer Leverkusen attacker to the London Stadium this January transfer window.

The Hammers will have to battle their Premier League rivals Chelsea and Newcastle United, who have been linked with Boniface.

The report added that West Ham have reportedly lost faith in Michail Antonio and Danny Ings who are their current first-team forwards at the moment and are pushing for a replacement.

West Ham’s record signing is Sébastien Haller, whom they bought for €50million, and it is being claimed that they are prepared to break that figure for Boniface’s signature.

Boniface has been one of Bayer Leverkusen’s key players this season.

He is arguably one of the best strikers in Europe currently, having scored 16 goals across all competitions for his team.

Boniface withdrew from participating at the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) due to a groin injury.
