EPL: Sheikh Jassim withdraws from Man Utd bid

The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, has had further discussions with the Glazer family about buying Manchester United 100 per cent.

However, Sheikh Jassim’s bid proposition has been rejected again by the Glazers.

As a result, Sheikh Jassim informed the Glazers that he was ready to withdraw from the process.

This claim was made by respected football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano in a tweet via his X account on Saturday.

He tweeted: “Glazers informed of Sheikh Jassim’s decision — he has WITHDRAWN from the process. Final bid understood to be almost double than $3.5B market valuation. $1.5B extra investment was planned.

“Sheikh Jassim has presented fully cash bid, clearing all old debt, with zero new debt, for 100% of the Club. Sheikh Jassim’s team declined to comment on this news citing “confidentiality restrictions”, but have confirmed they’ve withdrawn from the process.”

Meanwhile, the latest development has now opened the door for Sheikh Jassim’s rival, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, to make a fresh bid to buy Manchester United.
