Governor Abdullahi Sule has approved the sum of N500 million for the Nasarawa State Health Insurance Agency, NSHIA, to enhance access to affordable healthcare services in the state.

The governor has also allocated an extra N250 million for the state’s revolving drug scheme, aimed at ensuring the availability of quality and affordable drugs in public health facilities.

The governor made this announcement during a meeting with the Alago nation, led by the paramount traditional ruler, the Andoma of Doma, HRH, Alhaji (Dr) Ahmadu Aliyu Oga Onawo, who was on a solidarity visit to the Government House on Wednesday.

Sule assured the delegation of his administration’s commitment to improving infrastructure, including the construction of the Keana-Abuni road, with the design for the Doma market currently underway.

Expressing gratitude for the support received during and after the 2023 general elections, Governor Sule promised that his administration would prioritise the welfare of the people.

He assured the Alago nation that his deputy, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, would be the first deputy governor in Nasarawa State’s political history to serve for eight years.

He stated that the distribution would be carried out without bias, ensuring that those in need, regardless of political affiliation, receive assistance.

In his remarks, the Andoma of Doma expressed the Alago nation’s congratulations to Governor Sule on his victory at the Supreme Court.

He also thanked the governor for retaining Dr Emmanuel Akabe as his deputy, pledging continued support and loyalty from the Alago people.
