Harry Kane watched on awkwardly as hundreds of Bayern Munich fans serenaded him with a song to the melody of Jingle Bells.

The England captain has made a seamless transition to life in the Bundesliga following an £82million switch from Tottenham in August.

His stunning return of 26 goals in 27 games will attest to that and now it appears that fans of the six-time European Cup winners can’t get enough of the 30-year-old hotshot.

Kane was visiting one of Bayern’s supporters clubs branches in the Bavarian village of Kirchweidach – an annual obligation for the club’s players.

The hotel which hosted the meet and greet was decked out with fans wearing Kane’s No.9 shirt and when the striker was paraded on stage, the host belted out a rendition of Jingle Bells – with a few changed words.

The host sang: “Harry Kane, Harry Kane, Harry all the way…oh what fun it is to see how he scores again!”

Some fans joined in while others clapped along to the tune as Kane stood on the stage smiling awkwardly.

It remains to be seen whether the Christmas jingle will catch on and reverberate around the Allianz Arena during Saturday’s game with Borussia Monchengladbach.

Following the action-packed stay, Kane escaped the euphoria by heading to a hotel room.

“That was a bit crazy,” the ex-Tottenham striker told The Guardian. “It is special and these types of things today makes you realise how appreciated you are.

“It’s the first sort of thing I’ve done like this. You see fans in the stadiums, but here we’re an hour and a half drive from Munich, so it’s special. I didn’t know what to expect but the reception I’ve had has been amazing and I really appreciate it.”

Kane’s incredible impact at the club has already set him on the path to breaking a Bundesliga record set by the legendary Gerd Muller in the 1971/72 season, which was recently eclipsed by Robert Lewandowski.

The Polish striker’s record of 41 goals in a Bundesliga season is under threat from Kane who admits he is honoured to be mentioned alongside two of the club’s all-time greats.

“To be compared with them names is a great thing, especially in the first season, so it means I’m doing something right,” he said.

“You know what I’m like, I like to take things in my stride. It’s strange, after playing in the Premier League and England, just to be in a different county – obviously I don’t know the language, thankfully a lot of people speak English.

“It’s not easy and it takes a bit of getting used to. I’m just trying to take it day by day and slowly learn their ways, the way they do things. Even this [today] is unique. We didn’t have this before [in England] so it’s quite fun.”
