Insurgency: Buni to meet military service chiefs on border patrol, others

Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni is to meet with the chiefs of Army and Air staff as a follow-up to the resolutions of the State Security Council meeting in Damaturu on Wednesday.

Director General Press and Media Affairs to the Governor, Mamman Mohammed, in a statement on Thursday indicated that Buni is scheduled to brief the security chiefs on the resolutions of the meeting and the need to intensify security presence along the borders.

“The governor would also seek for a joint operation of the Army, Airforce and Police for clearance of possible undetonated, explosive ordinance devices in some suspected areas,” the statement added.

According to the statement, Buni also directed the Secretary to the State Government to constitute a government delegation to visit, condole, and identify with the families of the victims of recent attacks in the state.

Similarly, Buni directed the State Emergency Management Agency to support the families of the deceased persons with their immediate needs.
