Jack Grealish devastated as Pep Guardiola confirms Man City star suffered another groin injury during FA Cup win

Jack Grealish was left devastated after picking up another groin injury during Manchester City’s 6-2 FA Cup win at Luton.

The Man City star started for Pep Guardiola’s side at Kenilworth Road but had to be substituted in the first half.

Grealish has just come back from a groin injury sustained in the Champions League against Copenhagen earlier this month.

And Guardiola confirmed post-match that he has suffered a recurrence of the same issue.

The City boss said: “Looks like it [a recurrence of the groin injury].

“It’s the second time. Hopefully this time he can recover well.”

As he walked off the pitch, he was consoled by his teammates on the pitch before sulking on the bench.

The England winger then proceeded to show his devastation by covering his head with his tracksuit top as he held it in his hands.

It has been a tough campaign for Grealish who has not been playing as much as he would have liked this season.

This was his first start in domestic football since early January, but it did not go as planned for the 28-year-old.

At half time Grealish was then seen applauding the travelling Man City fans as both teams headed for the tunnel.

Guardiola will be very worried about how long he will be out for after claiming City ‘need’ him this season.

The supporters will be concerned too as they had to watch Grealish show his frustration once again.

It will have put a negative spin on the night for them after watching their side win their fifth-round tie thanks to five goals and a first-half hat-trick from Erling Haaland.

Four of those goals were incredibly assisted by Kevin De Bruyne.

Guardiola’s reigning FA Cup champions are going through to the quarter-finals as they look to defend their crown.

But concerns will remain over whether Grealish will be fit for any future tie with his injury woes continuing.

Graeme Souness admits he’s ‘not Jack Grealish’s biggest fan’ and says Manchester City man hasn’t improved under Pep Guardiola
