Keegan-Michael Key’s Taylor Swift joke roasting Bill Belichick made Patriots owner Robert Kraft visibly wince

All the NFL stars were out on Thursday night for the NFL Honours awards ceremony.

The annual event takes place before the Super Bowl – which this year takes place at Allegiant Stadium, dubbed the $2bn Death Star, between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers.

The prestigious ceremony celebrates the best performances of the season but the best performance on the night came from host Keegan-Michael Key.

The comedian channelled his Ricky Gervais at the Golden Globes and roasted a number of icons in attendance.

One of the people on the receiving end of a Key zinger was former New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick – who has been snubbed from a head coaching role next season.

Key joked how unbelievable it was that Taylor Swift – who is dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce – had been to more NFL playoff games this season than Belichick had.

Ouch.

The camera then immediately cut to Patriots team owner Robert Kraft who laughed before wincing as if pained by the brutal burn.

Kraft and Belichick recently parted ways after 24 years together following a dismal season that saw New England finish with a 4-13 record.

It wasn’t just Belichick in Key’s firing line either.

He also threw shots at the lowly Carolina Panthers with another Swift-related barb.

“Taylor Swift is in Tokyo right now. The only thing farther from the Super Bowl is the Carolina Panthers,” he joked.

Players and coaches were in attendance at the Las Vegas award ceremony where Ravens QB Lamar Jackson won his second MVP award despite one thing enraging fans.

Elsewhere, Prince Harry presented Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Cam Heyward with the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award winner, given to a player who has made a significant contribution to his community.

Browns star Myles Garrett – who revealed the secrets to his Greek-god physique – was named Defensive Players of the Year.

Super Bowl-bound 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey was named Offensive Player of the Year.

Meanwhile, Joe Flacco won Comeback Player of the Year, C.J. Stroud was named Offensive Rookie of the Year and Will Anderson Jr was named the Defensive Rookie of the Year.
