Mbappe has found himself under more scrutiny than ever following reports that he has verbally agreed to join Real Madrid this summer.

The France captain will fulfil his dreams of becoming a Galactico once his contract at PSG expires at the end of the season.

His impending exit saw manager Enrique substitute him early in PSG’s previous two matches, with the Spaniard explaining: “We need to learn to play without him sooner or later”.

Reports of a feud between the two only increased when Mbappe joined his mum in the stands after he was hooked at half time against Monaco rather than sitting on the bench.

However, the 25-year-old perfectly answered his critics inside PSG by spearheading the club into the Champions League quarter-finals.

Mbappe scored both goals in a 2-1 away win over Real Sociedad to book their spot in the last eight, and even earned a bear-hug from his manager following the full-time whistle.

Mbappe then denied rumours of a rift after the game, telling Canal+ that their relationship is ‘very good, very good!’

He added: “I have no problem with the coach. Everything is good with him. I have problems but the manager isn’t one of them.”

Mbappe’s heroics mean he still has the opportunity to deliver the elusive European crown PSG crave before he exits this summer.

After reaching the next round, Warren Zaire-Emery said: “We came here to qualify and we did it. We applied what the coach said.

“We prepared well for the match and we’re going to keep working hard for the games to come.

“We’ve got the best part of the season ahead of us, and we’re going to give it everything we’ve got to win it all, and that’s our objective.”
