Laura Woods has joked she had a month-long hangover after leaving her early mornings on talkSPORT Breakfast behind.
Woodsy spent three years starting her day at 4am to come into talkSPORT Towers to wake listeners up with the latest sports news.
This summer sadly marked the end of her time as Breakfast host, as she moved on to work for TNT Sport’s Champions League and boxing coverage, as well as other ventures.
Not having to face a 4am alarm everyday anymore would pose as a massive change for anyone – and Woodsy was no different.
Speaking about her life post-talkSPORT Breakfast on the Monday Mile podcast with Aimee Fuller, she said: “As I was like, ‘as soon as I give up Breakfast, I’m going to go to yoga everyday, I’m going be in the gym all the time’.
“I must’ve slept for last two months! I’m not joking. I was like, ‘life just hasn’t kicked in yet’, it took a while. The [free time] was obviously great but it took a while for my motivation to come back in.
“Then it peaked for a while and I was like, ‘oh my god, I feel great!’, I went to the gym, did all those things I wanted to do.”
But like most people that don’t have to worry about getting a good night’s sleep before speaking to the nation anymore would, Woodsy decided to make the most of her new found free time and go out celebrating with her friends.
“Then I went out, I started drinking and I was like, ‘this is great’,” she laughed. “I don’t mean wake up at nine in the morning and have a drink! But I just started saying yes to everything.
“All my friends I haven’t seen for ages, I was just saying yes to all the fun. So I went through that period and now I’ve had a hangover for what feels like about a month, so I’m trying to get back into it!”
Aside from having a hangover after a great night with friends, Woodsy went on to say she’s now feeling the best she’s ever felt.
Keep shining, Laura!
