Several Boko Haram members and commanders have been killed by Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) fighters during a clash in Borno State, North East Nigeria.
As earlier reported by Naija News, over 41 terrorists were killed in a supremacy battle between the two groups that took place on Wednesday in Duguri, Kukawa Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.
According to a counter-insurgency expert in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, the clash happened when ISWAP attacked Boko Haram fighters.
Makama said an impeccable source stated that the ISWAP terrorists, who came on several canoes, attacked the Boko Haram group and killed several of their commanders in the process.
The source was quoted as saying that the bloody encounter left 41 fighters killed on both sides, including commanders of the Boko Haram terrorist group.
