Niger Gov Bago Hails IBB At 82

The Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has hailed a former Nigerian Military Leader, Gen. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, as he clocks 82.

The governor, in a birthday message, submitted that the former military leader is a true patriot and nationalist who has left an indelible mark of excellence in impacting and shaping the nation’s history through sacrifices to ensure the survival and unity of Nigeria.

Governor Bago, in his message, described IBB as a living legend whose doggedness and resolve were not only vital to the building of stability in Nigeria’s development but also in framing international unity.

He noted that the policies and programmes of the elder statesman during his regime as the Military President of the country between 1985 and 1993 are still standing strong long after his active service to the nation.

While explaining how the octogenarian has shaped national development, the governor said his strategies and courage as a leader with a wealth of knowledge and expertise in governance, diplomacy, and public service have remained a beacon of hope and a source of inspiration for future generations.

“Congratulations to a living legend. Your decades of sacrifices, selfless acts of bravery and courage have made you a reference point for development in Nigeria,” the governor added.
