Niger State Housing Corporation, Tis-Buk Realty Limited and Refuge Mortgage Bank to collaborate to provide 10,000 units of housing in different local govt areas of Niger State

The Niger State Government, through the State Housing Corporation, has partnered with Tis-Buk Realty Limited, a leading private estate developer in Nigeria, as well as Refuge Mortgage Bank for the construction of 10,000 housing units for low to higher-income strata in Niger State and Nigeria as a whole.

This agreement for collaboration is in light of the uniform understanding of the Director General of Niger State Housing Corporation, Mr. Bashir Yakubu Harka, The Managing Director/ CEO of Tis-Buk Realty Limited, Engr. Kayode Adeleke, and the Managing Director/ CEO of Refuge Mortgage Bank, Pastor Femi Otenigbagbe. The trio believed the housing sector is in a key position to mitigate climate change, making eco-friendly and affordable housing strategies that will be crucial to improving the quality of life for people.

The claim was made at the physical inspection and working visit to the ongoing construction of the Green Dew (Kore Raba) Estate Project on Sunday, December 3, 2023, which had the aforementioned stakeholders in attendance, including Engr. Abubakar Yakubu (DanGatan Lapal) and other guests.

Green Dew (Kore Raba) Estate Project is designed to provide 120 affordable homes with 3-bedroom bungalows and 4-bedroom terrace Triplexes + BQ. It is located off the Minna-Bida Road, Kpakungu, Chanchanga Local Government Area, Minna.

This Project is a pilot scheme out of the planned 10,000 housing units for Niger State. The proposed infrastructure and amenities that will be available in the estate are paved internal roads and drains, electricity (solar and public power), water, sewage treatment, and landscaping. It also includes a gatehouse and perimeter fence, CCTV, play areas, and worship centers.

Green Dew (Kore Raba) Estate Project will be a Private Public Partnership (PPP) between the Niger State Government through the Niger State Housing Corporation (Land provider) and Tis-Buk Realty Limited (the Developer).

The 10,000-housing development will include 2,500 1-bedroom Terrace bungalows, 3,000 2-bedroom semi-detached bungalows, and 4,500 3-bedroom semi-detached bungalows residential housing units, and terrace duplexes for sale to members of cooperative groups and the general public. This project is planned for 84 months, with an estimated development cost of N167 billion.

This is a laudable development that would create job opportunities for the youths (both skilled and unskilled), which will, in turn, boost the internally generated revenue (IGR) of Niger State and enhance the Green economy vision of the Governor Umar Bago Administration. It is presumed to provide a great catalyst for social prosperity and poverty alleviation for State residents.

In his remark, The MD/ CEO of Refuge Mortgage Bank stated that the bank is Tis-Buk Realty Limited’s strategic financial partner to actualize this objective. This is because the bank is positioned to, through its various housing products and services, provide opportunities for all subscribers. The bank has also decided to bring its presence to Minna, the state capital.

According to the Director General of Niger State Housing Corporation, Mr. Bashir Yakubu Harka, the project is aimed at providing affordable homes for the people of the state, particularly the civil servants and members of the public. He disclosed that the Housing Corporation is ready to collaborate with Tis-Buk Realty Limited through the provision of the needed lands at different Local Government Areas of Niger State.

Speaking with journalists during the working visit, the MD/CEO, Tis-Buk Realty Limited, Engr. Kayode Adeleke noted that the company took an interest in embarking on the project in Minna due to its historic strategic location in Nigeria and the visionary actions of His Excellency, Honorable Umar Bago.
