“It wasn’t in our plan to go and lose for the World Cup, and it was painful anyway. And the team felt bad as a team; we felt bad.

But going forward, it has happened and we can’t kill ourselves, and we cannot dwell on what has happened,” Etim commented, acknowledging the setback.

Looking ahead, Etim outlined the team’s strategic approach, revealing plans to regroup and address their shortcomings during the break.

“Going forward, we’ll be resuming camp next year, second week of January. So, we have given ourselves just two weeks rest from now till the second week of January.

We will resume camp, and we will work hard for the tournament that is coming up, and we want to perform well in the one that we are going to be hosting,” she affirmed.

Etim’s determined stance reflects the team’s resilience and commitment to turning the page after the World Cup defeat, with a focused eye on preparing for upcoming challenges and the opportunity to shine at the African Games in 2024.
