NNL fines Crown FC, Ikorodu City N1m for assault

The Nigeria National League has fined Crown FC and Ikorodu City N1 million each for assault.

The General Manager of Crown FC, Olamide Ilupeju, encroached onto the pitch during the week five fixture against Solution FC to threaten and verbally assault the match official.

Reports of assault and hooliganism was the case against Ikorodu City at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena during their clash against Tradesafe FC.

The supporters of Ikorodu City threw missiles at the home team players and bench before the quick intervention of security agents.

Ilupeju and Ikorodu City supporters were also handed a final warning to desist from such unholy sports conduct or face stiffer sanctions.

Both teams have been directed by the NNL to pay their fines on or before the next games on the 6th of January, 2024.
