Northern Senators Forum appoints Yar’Adua new chairman

Northern Senators Forum has named Senator Abdulaziz Yar’Adua as its new chairman.

This is following the resignation of Bauchi Central Senator, Abdul Ningi.

Yar’Adua, a member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, is the lawmaker representing Katsina Central in the upper chamber of the National Assembly.

The forum also named Senator Tahir Mungono representing Borno North as its spokesperson to replace senator Sumaila Kawu who was warned by the Senate to stop sharing posts capable of causing unrest in the country.

DAILY POST recalls that Ningi had said his resignation was necessitated by unfolding events in the National Assembly, the North and the Nation at large.

He was earlier handed a three-month suspension after his comment on N3.7 trillion not being traceable in the 2024 budget.

“I will like to resign my position as the Chairman of the Northern Senators Forum. This is of course necessitated by unfolding events in the National Assembly, the North and the Nation at large,” he said
