- Nottingham Forest SACK Steve Cooper after run of one win in 13 games
- Former Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo in line to replace the Welshman
- West Ham can WIN the League Cup… don’t get hung up on rotation. Sod it! Go all out at Anfield – It’s All Kicking Off
Steve Cooper arrived in September 2021 with all signs pointing to League One rather than the Premier League.
Nottingham Forest had no right to go up in his first season in charge. They probably should have been relegated last season after he was given 22 summer signings and asked to make a team out of them.
Cooper has made mistakes as any young coach will. It is now one win in 13 and Forest might well end the season grateful for the weaknesses of the three promoted teams.
That is the future, but you cannot help look to the past and promotion at Wembley. The 23 years of Championship misery cannot be forgotten.
The tears of joy at Wembley prove that. Forest lurched from manager to manager before finding lightning in a bottle with Cooper. He restored the bond of club and fans and reinvigorated the red portion of the city.

Fans were all in for the ride in part because he was. He got Forest and the potential of a club on a gradual slide since the days of Brian Clough, bar the odd ray of light under Frank Clark.
So roll on Nuno. Fans could grow to love him but deep down we know it might never feel like it did under Cooper again.
