Ogun: Depend on God for a successor – Cleric warns Abiodun

Bishop of Remo Diocese, Anglican Communion, Olusina Fape, has warned the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, to depend entirely on God for a worthy successor at the completion of his second term in office.

The bishop said this at a Thanksgiving Service to mark the governor’s victory at the Supreme Court, held at the St. James’ Anglican Church, Iperu, Ikenne Local Government Area of the state on Sunday.

While speaking during his sermon, the clergyman asked the governor not to take the victory for granted,
enjoining him to remain focused and serve the people even better during his second term in office.

While praying for the success of the governor’s second term, the bishop charged Abiodun to remain focused as there is still a lot of ground to cover.

Speaking at the service, Abiodun described the legal battle as an unnecessary distraction.

Abiodun, who explained that the period of the litigation up to the Supreme Court was a period of great distraction, promised to now pay more attention to work for the wellbeing of the people of the state.

He said, “Although this period has brought a lot of distractions, I am relieved it is now behind us, allowing us to fully focus on our unwavering commitment to lead Ogun State to new heights and make it a shining example amongst not just Nigerian states, but other states in Africa.

“With just three years and four months remaining in our term, we are determined to implement the rest of our sustainable legacies that will create jobs, foster individual prosperity and promote the well-being and welfare of all our citizens.”
