Ondo SWAN gets new executives as Zonal Vice President harps on unity in South West

Segun Giwa of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) has emerged as the new Chairman of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, Ondo State chapter.

Joseph Adesuyan of African Independent Television (AIT) and Femi Atolagbe of Hope Newspaper also emerged as General Secretary and Financial Secretary of the association, respectively.

The election, which has been postponed several times, took place on Friday at the SWAN Secretariat in the state and was supervised by Mr. Ayodeji Ogunsakin, the Zonal Vice President of the association in the South West.

The caretaker chairman, Femi Dairo, began the proceedings as he provided a detailed account of the entire election process and encouraged the incoming executive to foster unity within the association.

Following Dairo’s address, Ogunsakin, in his first official assignment as Zonal Vice President, dissolved the caretaker committee as he emphasised the importance of maintaining peace and harmony within SWAN.

He expressed his commitment to restoring the lost glory of SWAN in the South-West region under his leadership, after which he extended his appreciation to all individuals who expressed interest in the association.

The newly elected chairman, Segun Giwa, expressed his gratitude to the members for their trust and confidence in him.

He recognised the challenges that lie ahead and vowed to work tirelessly to address them.

Giwa emphasised the significance of collaboration and promised to reach out to all members to foster unity and progress within the association.
