Oppenheimer Dominated The 2024 Oscars With Seven Wins

Cillian Murphy wins Best Actor for role in Oppenheimer at the 2024 Oscars.

Oppenheimer won the award for Best Picture, thereby making it Christopher Nolan’s first Best Picture Award at the Oscars. The historic win caps off the show’s award season as it ends the night with the biggest honor.

Cillian Murphy wins Best Actor for role in Oppenheimer at the 2024 Oscars.

Based on the 2005 biography American Prometheus by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin, the film tells the story of J. Robert Oppenheimer, with a focus on his studies, his career, and his eventual fall from grace.

The biographical thriller film earned the cast and crew seven awards in total, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Film Editing, Best Cinematography, and Best Original Score.

It was a night of many firsts, with Cillian Murphy earning his first Oscar for Best Actor, Christopher Nolan earning his first award for Best Director and Best Picture, and Robert Downey Jr. for Best Supporting Actor.

Poor Things, directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, comes in a close second as it earns four awards, including Best Actress, won by Emma Stone.
