Peseiro Downplays Revenge Mission against Guinea Bissau

Guinea Bissau previously defeated Nigeria, stunning the three-time champions at home in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Despite the loss, Peseiro emphasized that the team’s focus is on securing a victory in the upcoming match at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan.

“We are not thinking about revenge but we are here to top the group, and they are in our sights. We must do what has to be done.”

“Guinea Bissau have no points and will play with freedom, and that is when a team becomes dangerous,” Peseiro stated during a pre-match press conference.

Nigeria currently occupies the second position in group A, with four points from two games.

A single point against Guinea-Bissau will be sufficient for the Super Eagles to secure a place in the Round of 16.
