Peseiro singles out Midfielder for Praise in Equatorial Guinea Match

Yusuf stood out as the Super Eagles started their 2023 AFCON journey, with an uninspiring draw against Nzalang Nationale.

“He started the game because he deserved to play, he played well from the first minute,” Peseiro said in his post-match interaction with the media.

Yusuf’s time on the pitch however was caught short due to injury and was stretchered off.

The player is now a major doubt for the second group game against host, Cote d’Ivoire.

“I don’t know much about his (Yusuf’s ) injury for now, but we are hoping it is nothing too serious.

‘We hope he will be able to play the next game against Cote d’Ivoire,” Peseiro concluded.
