Players of Rivers Angels, Abia Angels, Confluence Queens, and Robo Queens have been nominated for the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Player of the Month Award for December 2023.
The players nominated are Blessing Okpe, Nikiru Nwauke, Sylvia Echefu, and Folasade Ijamilusi.
Ijamilusi netted her sixth goal of the season during Robo Queens’ victory against Bayelsa Queens in Lagos.
Echefu has kept over five clean sheets for Confluence Queens in the league.
Nwauke has proved to be an integral member of the Abia Angels team with her decisive contribution to the defence.
It’s the second time she has been nominated for the award this season.
Youngster Okpe played a pivotal role in Rivers Angels’ rise to second place on the table.
The winner of the award will be announced later this week.
The NWFL will continue next week after the two-week festive break.
