The Premier League players who have covered the most distance for their clubs so far this season have been revealed, with a few shocking revelations in there.

The 2023/23 campaign is heading towards the final straight, with some teams having played up to 25 games out of the 38 in a domestic campaign.

Larger sample sizes for data mean they can be trusted more as a validation for trends, and one of the main statistics that often come out when assessing teams is the distance covered by players during games.

While it’s normal for a team’s total distance to be looked at, especially in ay particular game, perhaps less so are players’ distances. But it has now been revealed which player from each team has covered the most ground this term.

In a new post shared on social media by the Premier League, it has been revealed that James Ward-Prowse has covered the most ground in the division this season, running 272km so far.

While it is normal for a team’s most active player to be a midfielder, there are a number of sides whose top-of-the-list aren’t midfield players.

One of those names is Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke, who is having a successful season with 13 goals scored so far. He has also covered 244km, the most of any Cherries player.

Centre-half Joachim Andresen tops the list for Crystal Palace at 231km, while left-back Antonee Robinson, known for getting up and down the left-hand-side for Fulham, tops his side’s numbers with 236km.
