The head coach of the Super Falcons Randy Waldrum has asked for Nigerian’s continuous support as they prepare for their second game in the 2023 Women’s World Cup.
Last Friday, the Super Falcons drew 0-0 with Canada in their opening game at the 2023 Women’s World Cup thanks to goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie who saved a spot-kick in the game.
After their first game at the tournament, the team returned to their base in Brisbane ahead of their game against the co-hosts Australia at Lang Park Stadium.
The game is scheduled to kick off at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 27. After that, the team will be in action for the last time in the group stage against the Republic of Ireland on July 31.
In a press conference after the Super Falcons’ recovery session on Saturday, the head coach of the team said the mood at the team’s camp is good.
Coach Waldrum said, “After the first game, we had a recovery session for the players and gave them a little bit of a break in the afternoon as well because they’ve been so isolated in camp. It was good for them to be out. We have been training late in the evening to simulate the time of our match against Australia and so far, the mood in camp is in a very good place right now.
“Keep supporting us, we appreciate all the messages from home in Nigeria as well as Nigerians in Australia. They were a great support in the stadium. Keep sending positive vibes to us because we are all in this together.”
