Romelu Lukaku Is Available For Sale For Just £37 Million

Chelsea Football Club might not be able to enjoy the services of Romelu Lukaku at the end of this season due to a clause in his current loan deal with Roma.

Recall that Romelu Lukaku first joined Chelsea from Belgian club, RSC Anderlecht for a transfer fee worth €15 million on August 8, 2011, but struggled to make a mark at the club.

He had to leave on loan to West Ham, and then to Everton which he later joined permanently for a transfer fee worth €35.36 million.

Lukaku made so much impact at Everton that Manchester United decided to buy him for a transfer fee worth €84.70 million on July 10, 2017.

Due to clashes with fans, the 30-year-old all-time top striker decided to leave Old Trafford for Inter Milan for a transfer fee worth €74 million on August 8, 2019.

On August 12, 2021, Chelsea decided to pay a then-British transfer record fee worth €113 million to bring him back to Stamford Bridge. Unfortunately, he couldn’t establish himself at the club and had to return to Inter Milan on loan and then moved to Roma on loan during the last summer transfer window.

Since he arrived at Roma under the tutelage of veteran coach Jose Mourinho, Romelu Lukaku has been on fire for the Italian Serie A side. So far this season, he has scored 7 goals in 8 games in all competitions for Roma.

No forward at Chelsea is performing as well as Lukaku currently. For instance, Chelsea’s Armando Broja has managed to score just a goal in four games, the hottest winger at Chelsea, Raheem Sterling has scored three goals and provided an assist in 9 games, while the club’s main striker Nicolas Jackson has managed to score just three goals in 9 games.

Despite the poor form of these forwards, Romelu Lukaku is not likely to return to Stamford Bridge because there is a release clause in his current contract that permits him to join any interested club for just £37 million in the summer of 2024.

Based on his current form and the reasonable transfer fee, Roma are likely to offer him a permanent deal at the end of this season or the Belgian might move to a bigger club, which are two options Lukaku would choose 100 times instead of returning to Stamford Bridge.
