Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has claimed the Premier League title race is ‘too close’ to call ahead of Liverpool and Manchester City’s key clash.

The title rivals will meet at Anfield after seeing Arsenal move to the top of the Premier League table on Saturday night.

Mikel Arteta’s side have racked up eight consecutive Premier League wins to boost their title prospects.

Keane admitted the Gunners could not be ruled out in the title race given their recent form.

He highlighted Liverpool’s determination to win the title in Jurgen Klopp’s final season, as well as Man City’s recent domination of the Premier League under Pep Guardiola.

‘If you asked me what camp I’d be in, and I’m including Arsenal, I wouldn’t know which to choose to be honest,’ Keane said on Sky Sports.

‘Arsenal are doing really well, they look strong physically, they look different to last year but then you have Man City who have had Haaland out injured and De Bruyne coming back after months out so it’s a really hard one to call.

‘Every team is desperate to win football matches and to win trophies.

‘When you look at the background, the context of the match with Jurgen Klopp leaving at the end of the season, they’ve already won one trophy this season but I’m always reluctant to write off Manchester City and Pep Guardiola.

‘What they’ve done over the last few years has been incredible and for me, it’s a hard one to call.’

Both Liverpool and Man City could go top of the Premier League with victory at Anfield with 10 league matches remaining this season.

It will be the first of two crunch matches in the title race Man City in as many weeks.

Guardiola’s side will host Arsenal at the Etihad next Sunday as the title race heats up.
