Nigerian Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, is overjoyed after earning his first Grammy nomination.
The ‘OBO’ artiste secured a remarkable three nominations for the 66th Grammys.
His fourth studio album, ‘Timeless,’ earned a nod in the Best Global Music Album category, while ‘Unavailable’ and ‘Feel’ received nominations in the Best African Music Performance and Best Global Music Performance categories respectively.
Expressing his joy, the jubilant singer shared on his social media handle, “3 Grammy nominations! Delay is not denial!”
Davido will be vying for the Best Global Music Performance award alongside fellow Nigerian Burna Boy and international artistes Arooj Aftab, Silvana Estrada, Béla Fleck, Falu, and Gaurav Shah.
In the Best Global Music Album category, he faces competition from Burna Boy, Susana Baca, Shakti, and Bokante.
Additionally, in the Best African Music Performance category, he will contend with well-known names such as Asake, Ayra Starr, Burna Boy, and South Africa’s Tyla.
