Sir Alex Ferguson has taken a quarter of a million pounds off the price of his luxury Cheshire mansion as he continues to find a buyer after listing his home three months ago.
The Manchester United legend put the property up for sale for £3.5m following the tragic passing of his wife, Lady Cathy, who died aged 84 following 57 years of marriage to the former manager.
He had described Lady Cathy as ‘his bedrock’, the pair having met back in 1964, and her funeral was attended by numerous famous faces from the football world and further afield.
Ferguson listed his property, located in Wilmslow, Cheshire, following his partner’s passing but has found buyers hard to come by, and his since reduced the asking price to £3.25m.
Estate agents described the mansion as ‘deceptively spacious’ and ‘impressive’ on one of Cheshire’s most ‘desirable’ roads.
