THE NOTEBOOK: Sir Jim Ratcliffe faces the media for the first time since £1.3billion investment into Man United, a nasty illness hits Tottenham and Rasmus Hojlund responds to Roy Keane criticism

Rodrigo Bentancur scored seconds into the second-half to ensure Tottenham took a point

Rodrigo Bentancur scored minutes into the second-half to ensure Tottenham took a point against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Erik ten Hag’s side took the lead after just three minutes through Rasmus Hojlund’s powerful strike before Richarlison levelled the game on the 19 minute mark.

United regained the lead five minutes before half-time thanks to Marcus Rashford’s third Premier League goal of the season.

But Bentancur scored just seconds after the break with a powerful strike of his own.

Mail Sport’s Sami Mokbel takes a look at some of things you may have missed from the match.

Ratcliffe faces the media

‘Hopefully we don’t find anything dodgy’ quipped Sir Jim Ratcliffe as met media for the first time since his £1.3billion investment into Manchester United was confirmed.

The businessman’s minority stake in United will be ratified as soon as the Premier League complete their owners and directors test with the INEOS owner wasting no time in trying to charm the assembled press in position at Old Trafford for the game against Tottenham.

Of course, it is highly unlikely the investigation will bring up anything ‘dodgy’ given Ratcliffe’s standing as one of the most recognisable businessmen on the planet but his quip drew laughter nonetheless.

‘It’s the first match for me since we got here. I am very excited to be here,’ said Ratcliffe, who named Paul Scholes and Eric Cantona as his favourite United players.

Asked if his United ownership is the most exciting prospect of his entire business career, the 71-year-old, who sat next Sir Alex Ferguson, added: ‘Correct. Yes. I have done a few exciting things but there is no question. It’s taken a few turns, as you know, but these things take some doing. (It will be completed) early to mid-February.’

Bug hits Tottenham camp

A nasty illness swept its way through the Tottenham camp ahead of the game at United.

Dejan Kulusevski was the biggest casualty, the Swedish midfielder forced to miss the game after being struck down by the bug.

‘He’s been ill the past couple of days. We had it run through the team and unfortunately he copped the worst of it,’ said Ange Postecoglou.

James Maddison, who is moving towards availability following a long-term injury, also suffered from the ailment in recent days.

Littler watches from the stands

Manchester United welcomed darts sensation Luke Littler to Old Trafford for the clash against Spurs.

United supporter Littler, who reached the World Darts Championship final earlier this month, was gifted a United shirt with his nickname ‘The Nuke’ and the number 180 belonged on the back.

Littler turns 17 this week – not a bad early birthday present.

Hojlund responds to Keane

Perhaps Rasmus Hojlund caught a glimpse of Roy Keane’s pre-match remarks about his United career so far.

Prior to the game, the £72million striker had scored just one Premier League goal and Keane said: ‘You can’t keep waiting for players. He’s not showing it, he is missing a lot of clear cut chances.’

Hojlund didn’t keep them waiting long on Sunday – just three minutes before he doubled his league tally with the opener.
