Tinubu Mentions Two Things Queen Elizabeth II Will Be Remembered For

2023: Tinubu To Unveil His Substantive Running Mate This Week

Recall that Naija News had earlier reported that the Queen died at the age of 96 on Thursday evening.

Her doctors had earlier expressed concern on the state of her health while her family had gathered at Balmoral Castle in Scotland where she was placed under medical supervision.

Yesterday evening, Buckingham Palace, announced that the monarch, who served her country for 70 years, “peacefully” passed away in the afternoon at Balmoral Castle in Scotland.

Reacting to the death of the monarch via a statement on Thursday night in Abuja, Tinubu said she would be remembered for her dedication and a deep sense of duty.

He stated that the world had lost a revered icon.

He said: “With the sad passing of Queen Elizabeth II, the United Kingdom has lost one of its greatest ever monarchs and the world has lost a much cherished, revered and admired Icon.”

The former governor noted that her visits to Nigeria during her reign were always beautiful occasions.

He said that as the first British monarch to reach seven decades on the throne, her patriotic role birthed and sustained a warm and enduring friendship between the UK and Nigeria.

The APC flag bearer praised the late monarch for her dedication, deep sense of duty, and firm belief in the glory of the United Kingdom which are the lasting legacies for which she would always be remembered.

My family’s thoughts and prayers are with the new King, Charles III, the entire Royal Family, and all Commonwealth Nations at this time of mourning and sadness.

“May she rest in eternal peace,” he added.
