Transfer: Man City to make ‘big decisions’ on Guardiola’s squad

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has claimed the Premier League club will make big decisions on the playing squad.

The champions have lost talismanic playmaker Kevin De Bruyne to a hamstring injury that could sideline him until 2024.

John Stones and Bernardo Silva were also absent over the weekend as they beat Newcastle 1-0.

With Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez having left over the summer and Aymeric Laporte joining Al-Nassr, Guardiola’s squad is taking on a different shape.

Guardiola told reporters: “Over the next one or two months the club have to take some important decisions with the squad.

“We didn’t expect (the situation) with Kevin and we didn’t expect with Riyad.”
