UCL Qualifiers: Rangers star Dessers reveals childhood ambition

Rangers forward, Cyriel Dessers has revealed his obsession to play in the UEFA champions League.

Dessers and his teammates are seeking a place in the money spinning group stage of the greatest football competition in the world.

The Light Blues will take on Eredivisie giants, PSV Eindhoven in the second leg of their playoff tie on Wednesday.

Both teams battled to a 2-2 draw in the first leg last week.

Dessers confessed he grew up having the desire to play in the competition and is keen to actualise it.

“It would mean the world,” the Nigeria international was quoted by Rangers Review.

“Of course, we have several goals this season but this is our first big goal. As a kid, I remember when I was in the Chelsea fans store and I used to ask my parents if I could put a Champions League badge on the shirt.

“Now I want it on my own shirt. I know what I am playing for. It is a childhood dream and we are 90 minutes away from that so I hope we can get a good outcome.”

The 28-year-old joined Michael Beale’s side from Italian club, Cremonese this summer.
