Nigeria, nine-time African Champions, are pitted along with Olympic Champions Canada, debutants Republic of Ireland and co-host Australia in Group B.

 

The Super Falcons reached the knock out phase of the last World Cup held in France, before losing out to Super powers Germany.

Speaking with media in Abuja before the Super Falcons’ departure to Australia, Ebi said the team will surpass their previous achievement in the competition.

“I want to tell Nigerians that we are going to Australia, not just to participate, but to surpass our record in the last outing. I believe we will make Nigerians proud.”

The competition will run from July 20 to August 20 and Nigeria will play their first game against Canada.
