The 56-year-old German, who has led the club to six major trophies since taking charge in October 2015, has admitted he is ‘running out of energy’ and informed Reds bosses of his decision to leave back in November.

The countdown is now on to his departure with Liverpool set for an emotional last few months of Klopp’s tenure.

But with the Merseyside giants still fighting on four fronts, Klopp will hope to leave his much-beloved club on a high.

Currently, Liverpool’s final game of the 2023/24 campaign is set to be a Premier League clash against Wolves on Sunday, May 19.

That game is being held at Anfield, meaning Klopp would sign off in front of a packed and emotional home crowd.

But Liverpool are still vying for glory in the FA Cup and Europa League.

Should the Reds reach the final of the Europa League, Klopp’s last game would come at the Dublin Arena on Wednesday, May 22.

But should they reach the FA Cup final, Klopp would take his bow on Saturday, May 25 at the home of football – Wembley Stadium.

Klopp is eager to end the season on a high before calls time on his glittering Liverpool career.

He said: “Let’s now really go for it. The outside world want to use this decision, laugh about it, want to disturb us.

“We are Liverpool, we went through harder things together. And you went through harder things before me. Let’s make a strength of it. That would be really cool. 

“Let’s squeeze everything out of this season and have another thing to smile about when we look back in the future.”
